Welcome to the THUNDER report for Feb. 19 from Birmingham, Alabama

This weeks show opens with a replay of the end of the main event from Nitro. After the announcers yap a while about it they go to footage from earlier in the day, when Tenay starts an interview with Chris Jericho in the parking lot. They are interupted when the nWo runs past to interupt a conversation between Luger and the Macho Man. The nWo beats the crap out of both of them and carries Randy away to their dressing room as Hogan proclaims that "This Is 4 Life!" Of course Tony Schiavone can't believe what he just saw and he doesn't shut up about it for the rest of the show.1

First Match: PRINCE IAUKEA vs KIDMAN

Right at the beginning of the match Louie Spicolli comes out and takes over Lee Marshall's announcing duties. As Lodi comes to the ring Louie speaks for the fans all over the world when he asks, "what's this Lodi guy up to?" Prince has an edge during this match, using his skirt (I am sure it has a fancy name, but it looks like a skirt) to choke Kidman. Meanwhile Louie continues to talk about how good of friends he is with Larry Zbyszko. During the match it is announced that something is going on in the lockerroom. We go there and see Raven and Riggs sitting on the floor together. Raven tells Riggs to go get Hammer. When Riggs is gone Mortis shows up and says that he wants in (to the Flock). Raven says that he must be himself if he wants in (Chris Canyon instead of Mortis). As Mortis walks away Raven says, "by the way, you have to beat Diamond Dallas Page as well." Back in the ring the action is still going on. KIDMAN WINS with the Shooting Star Press (wow, what a move...no wonder a guy that looks like him got a job with WCW).

DDP then promotes "For Guys That Like Movies" that will be following the show. Tonight they are showing Roddy Piper in "They Live."

The announcers are shown and Louie is wearing an Outsiders shirt, but he keeps talking about his friendship with Larry. It is announced that the Outsiders will get a rematch with the Steiners at Superbrawl.

Second Match: MENG vs HUGH MORRIS

Meng dominates because Hugh can't find a way to hurt him. It is announced that Larry would fight Louie at Superbrawl and Louie freaks. MENG WINS with Tongan Death Grip (poor Hugh could not figure out one of the thousand ways out of that move). Meng refuses to break the hold when Jimmy Hart tells him to. Barbarian (his partner) comes out to make him break it. Meng does and slaps it on Barbarian. After dropping him, Meng goes after Hart (so is Meng a face now? Where is this going?).

Third Match: MORTIS vs DALLAS PAGE

As Mortis comes to the ring, his manager James Vandenberg follows him...talking to him, questioning him. Good match with some good action, but the story really starts after the match. PAGE WINS with the Diamond Cutter. He then leaves thru the crowd. The Flock comes out (without Raven) Mortis is still out in the ring and Vandenberg runs when he sees the Flock. Hammer picks up Mortis and carries him back to the entrance way. As he heads there Lodi follows calling Mortis a loser. Raven is standing in the entrance and Hammer drops Mortis at his feet. Raven then slaps Lodi (and the world laughed in glee...that boy needs to be slapped more often). Mortis stands and looks at Raven. Raven drops him with the DDT (Tony calls it the Even Flow, leaving out the DDT part. Guess that is the new name).

Clips are then shown of the Davey Boy Smith/ Steve McMichael feud.

Fourth Match: STEVE MCMICHAEL vs JIM NIEDHART

The crowd is behind Jim (by the sound of it). The match ends kind of weak when Jim is laying on the the apron and Steve picks up the steel steps and holds them...waiting. Jim does not move and neither does Steve, until finally the Bulldog comes out and attacks Steve. They fight to the back as the show goes to commercial.

Fifth Match: MARCUS BAGWELL vs CHRIS ADAMS

A pretty good match, if nothing else Adams is a hard worker. But like most NWO matches it is not a fair fight. Bagwell nails Adams when Adams is going after Vincent who was climbing the turnbuckle. BAGWELL WINS with the Blockbuster.

We then take "a special look at Juventud Guerrera."

Sixth Match: CHAVO GUERRERO JR vs CHRIS JERICHO

For the Cruiser-weight belt. Following the example that he set last week, Chris refuses to remove his belt at first. He and the ref argue until he finally takes it off. JERICHO WINS with a Liontamer out of nowhere. He refuses to break the hold and Juventud comes out and yells at him. Chris attacks Juvi and tries to take his mask. Juvi fights his way out of the situation and Chris leaves.

Seventh Match: SICKBOY vs DAVEY BOY SMITH

Eric Bischoff comes out and throws a fit that a Piper movie is being shown after Thunder. Bulldog has new, long, pants to replace his tiny, little speedo...thank goodness. SMITH WINS when he nails Sickboy with a power slam. Steve McMichael then comes out and attacks him. Security comes out and attempts to keep them apart.

Eighth Match: RAVEN vs CHRIS BENOIT

As Benoit heads to the ring Raven attacks him from behind. Raven beats on him for a bit and then tosses him into the ring. At this point a chair gets involved and both men uses it. At one point Chris gets Raven from behind and gives him FOUR German Suplexes with out breaking the hold. When he is done Raven can't stand. So, of course, the Flock attacks. Kidman jumps off the top rope but Benoit turns the attack into a Crippler Cross Face as Kidman flies by. The rest of the Flockheads start beating on Chris. Raven notices Dallas Page coming thru the crowd and takes off running. The rest of the Flock do not notice and Page enters the ring and attacks them all, except Saturn who has put Benoit in the Rings of Saturn. Once Page is done with the Flockups Saturn breaks the hold and goes after him. Page handles him without a problem. Once they are alone in the ring Benoit tells Page, "I don't need your help."

Ninth Match: GLACIER vs BILL GOLDBERG

Goldberg has a couple of nice moves early in the match, including a backflip to avoid a leg sweep and a spinning neck breaker (guess this is to "prove" that he is not a one move wrestler). The match lasts a total of one minute and three seconds. GOLDBERG WINS with the Jackhammer (so why did he have so much trouble with Regal last week? He is killing everbody else. Did Regal not play fair?). The announcers wonder, "who can stop him?"

Main Event: RIC FLAIR vs LEX LUGER

Well, the Flair watch is over, he is back. They wrestle this match just like they used to years ago. Flair plays the heel, going for the eyes and the crotch and begging for mercy when things look bad. But it does not matter, Flair is beyond face/heel now. The crowd cheers him (and Lex for that matter). Flair gets him in the figure-four, but Lex is able to reverse it. Savage comes out and attacks Lex and Flair goes after him. Right after Savage drops Flair, Hogan comes out and attacks Savage. The rest of the (b-team) NWO comes out and attacks Savage, Flair and Luger. Sting comes out to make the save. As the show ends Lex and Savage and Sting and Hogan are fighting in the aisle as Flair fights the B-team in the ring.
